Creating an order by hand
Not every sale comes through your website. Phone orders, Facebook messages and walk-in customers all need an order created manually.
Where to find it
Sidebar → Orders → All Orders → Create Order, top right.
Sidebar → Orders → Custom Orders leads to the same place — it is a shortcut with a bigger button, not a separate feature.
What you must fill in
Four things, and the form refuses to save without them:
- At least one product
- Customer name
- Customer phone
- Shipping address
Everything else is optional.
Filling the form
Products — search your catalogue and add items. For a product with variants you pick the exact size or colour. Quantity and unit price are both editable per line, so you can honour a price you agreed on the phone.
Customer — name, phone, address, email. Email is optional; without it the customer gets no order confirmation email.
Delivery — pick a delivery charge, or type one in. If you have inside-Dhaka and outside-Dhaka rates configured, choosing one fills the charge in for you.
Payment — choose the method. It defaults to Cash on Delivery. The Paid field is how much you have already received: leave it 0 for a normal COD order, or enter the full amount for something already paid.
Discount — two independent kinds, and they stack:
- A coupon — applies one of your existing discount codes
- A manual discount — a taka amount you decide right now
Using both applies both.
Note — internal. Prints on the packing slip.
Saving
Save, top right, creates the order immediately and takes you to it. From that point it behaves like any other order: change status, print, send to a courier.
There is no confirmation step. Save creates a real order, so check the quantities and the phone number first.
Recovering an abandoned cart
Starting from an abandoned checkout instead of a blank form is much faster — Convert to Order pre-fills the customer and everything they had in their basket, leaving you to confirm and save.
About the Draft Orders page
Sidebar → Orders → Draft Orders will be empty, and it will stay empty.
Nothing in the dashboard currently saves an order as a draft — the Create Order form has one Save button and it places a real order. Draft orders are a planned feature that is not finished, so treat the page as coming soon rather than as somewhere your work might be sitting.
If you need a real order held back, create it and leave it on Pending until you are ready to act on it.
Common problems
“Save does nothing.” One of the four required fields is empty. A message names the missing one — usually the shipping address.
“The customer got no confirmation.” You left the email blank, or the order was created without one.
“The total ignored my discount.” Coupons and manual discounts are separate fields. Check you filled the one you meant.
“I hit my order limit.” Every plan includes a maximum number of orders per month. See your plan.
